Frequent Asked Questions
Clear answers about hypnosis, online sessions, past-life regression, scheduling, and what to expect.
Getting Started
-
The complimentary 20–30 minute consultation is an introductory conversation. We will discuss what you are hoping to explore, answer general questions about hypnosis and my approach, and consider whether working together feels like a good fit.
No hypnotherapy is performed during this consultation, and there is no obligation to continue.
-
Before your first hypnotherapy session, we will schedule a separate complimentary pre-talk and preparation meeting.
During this meeting, we may discuss your goals and relevant background in greater detail, review how hypnosis works, address expectations or concerns, and consider whether the planned approach appears appropriate. I may also use brief non-diagnostic exercises involving attention, imagination, suggestibility, or hypnotic responsiveness to help tailor the session to you.
Afterward, we can decide whether to schedule the actual hypnotherapy session and which approach may be most suitable.
-
Because the consultation and pre-talk have already been completed separately, the paid hypnotherapy session can focus primarily on the agreed goal and hypnotic process.
We begin with a brief check-in, review the planned approach, and answer any remaining questions. The hypnosis portion may include focused attention, relaxation, guided imagery, reflective exploration, or supportive suggestions tailored to your goal.
You remain able to speak, move, reject a suggestion, pause, or stop at any time. At the end, we allow time to reorient, briefly discuss the experience, and identify any reflections or next steps.
-
The effectiveness and pace of hypnotherapy can depend on several factors, including the nature and complexity of your goal, how long the pattern has been present, your readiness and motivation for change, your expectations, your comfort with the process, and how you respond to hypnosis.
Progress may also be influenced by the consistency of sessions, your willingness to reflect or practice between appointments, current life circumstances, and whether the concern is appropriate for hypnotherapy within my scope of practice.
Some people experience meaningful progress from one focused session. Others benefit from several sessions that allow time to explore underlying patterns, reinforce new responses, and integrate changes more gradually.
The free consultation and complimentary pre-talk help us consider an appropriate starting approach, but the exact number of sessions cannot be predicted or guaranteed in advance. We will review your progress together, and you remain free to continue, pause, or stop at any time.
-
Yes. Online sessions allow you to participate from a private and comfortable location using a stable internet connection and a device with working audio and video.
Before the session, you will be asked to confirm your current physical location, emergency contact information, privacy, and backup communication plan. You should not participate while driving, working, caring for another person, or in a location where you may be interrupted.
Understanding Hypnosis
-
Yes. Hypnosis is not unconsciousness, mind control, or sleep. Most people remain aware of what is happening and can hear, think, speak, move, or open their eyes.
You cannot be forced to accept a suggestion that conflicts with your values or choices. You may pause or end the session at any time.
-
Most people can experience some degree of focused attention, imagination, or hypnotic responsiveness. The experience varies from person to person and may also vary from one session to another.
A willingness to participate, communicate honestly, and follow simple instructions is generally more important than trying to reach a particular depth of trance.
-
You do not need to become deeply relaxed, unconscious, or unaware for hypnosis to be useful. Some people feel very calm, while others remain mentally active and alert.
Hypnosis can feel similar to becoming absorbed in a book, conversation, memory, creative activity, or daydream. We can adjust the approach to match your natural style rather than forcing a particular experience.
-
My services are non-clinical, complementary personal-growth services. I do not diagnose or treat medical, psychological, or psychiatric conditions, and hypnotherapy is not a substitute for psychotherapy, counseling, medical care, medication, or emergency services.
When a concern appears outside my scope, I may recommend that you consult an appropriately licensed professional before beginning or continuing hypnotherapy.
Past-Life Regression & Spiritual Exploration
-
Past-life regression is a guided hypnotic process designed to help you access and explore experiences that may be perceived as memories from another lifetime.
During a session, you may become aware of scenes, people, relationships, emotions, physical sensations, or recurring themes that feel connected to your present life. The process can help you explore unresolved experiences, recognize patterns, gain insight, find emotional resolution, or deepen your spiritual understanding.
I do not impose a particular interpretation or tell you what your experience means. You are free to understand it as a genuine past-life memory, a symbolic experience, a reflection of the subconscious mind, or in whatever way feels most meaningful to you.
-
No. You are not required to hold any particular spiritual or religious belief.
Past-life regression and spiritual exploration can be approached through a spiritual, symbolic, psychological, imaginative, or open-ended framework. I do not impose an interpretation or ask you to accept an experience as literal fact.
-
No. Human memory is reconstructive and may be influenced by expectations, emotion, imagination, suggestion, later information, and the passage of time.
Images or apparent memories experienced during hypnosis may be accurate, partly accurate, symbolic, imaginative, or a combination. They should not automatically be treated as verified historical or legal facts.
Hypnosis is not intended to investigate alleged crimes, identify an offender, recover legal evidence, or replace a qualified forensic interview.
Practical Questions
-
Sessions are not routinely recorded. Recording occurs only when both the client and practitioner agree in advance and complete a separate written Recording Authorization.
You may decline recording without affecting your access to services, and either party may ask for recording to stop at any time.
-
Clients aged 16–17 may be considered on a case-by-case basis. A parent or legal guardian must provide written consent, and the young person must also provide their own informed assent.
The consultation helps determine whether the service is appropriate, whether the young person is participating voluntarily, and whether another type of professional support may be more suitable.
-
Please provide as much advance notice as possible when you need to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations, missed appointments, refunds, and package terms are handled according to the Cancellation, Rescheduling, Refund & Package Policy provided before booking.
You are encouraged to review that policy and ask any questions before reserving a paid appointment or purchasing a session package.
-
No. Farahi Hypnotherapy & Inner Growth does not provide emergency, crisis, medical, psychiatric, or suicide-prevention services, and messages are not continuously monitored.
For immediate danger, a medical emergency, severe psychiatric symptoms, or an urgent safety concern, contact 911 or an appropriate local emergency or crisis service.
-
Hypnotherapy may need to be postponed, modified, or declined when a person is severely distressed, materially impaired by alcohol or drugs, unable to provide informed consent, experiencing significant confusion or instability, or dealing with a concern that requires licensed medical or mental-health care.
You will be asked to complete an intake and suitability questionnaire so we can consider whether the service appears appropriate and safe.
